April 20 the Lander Pioneer Museum will have a booth at the Lander Garden Expo at the High School gym - the booth will have a kids activity where kids can plant a native flower seed and take it home.
“Bruce Blevins: Mapping Yellow Stone”
Bruce will speak on the Early Historical Mapping of Yellowstone National Park and the early published and unpublished cartography of what would become Yellowstone National Park. Information from government and private expeditions made up early mapping and included verbal information provided by Native Americans and fur trappers. A variety of historic maps will be illustrated and discussed in the slide show presentation.
“Celebrating Women’s History Month: Women’s Small Business Owners Tea”
There will be a speaker presentation about historical women who have had an impact on our community, tea and refreshments, as well as an opportunity to meet women in our community who are leaving their impact on history for generations to come!
“Lava Mountain Geology Trek”
This trek is part of the Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series. Dr. Matt Brueseke of Kansas State University will lead a geology trek up Lava Mountain on July 6th at 9am. This will be an exciting opportunity to learn about volcanic activity up close.
