In this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek, local educator and collector of ghost stories, Alma Law will guide us around downtown Riverton and show us where some of his favorite ghost stories occurred. After the walk, we’ll return to the museum and enjoy cookies and hot cocoa!
he Pioneer Museum in Lander will present this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek September 11th from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Meet at the Pioneer Museum to a visit to this historic fishing lodge on the Loop Road. Learn the history of the Loop Road, the water projects and the lodge and have lunch at the Lodge.
The Pioneer Museum in Lander will host the CWC/Sinks Canyon Wind River Adventure Trek on Aug 28, 10 a.m. Jack States will take us around the historic orchards at the college facility near Sinks Canyon and talk about the history of apples in Lander and the state experimental farm that used to be at the site.
Experience a rare tour of the J.B. Okie Mansion that was built in 1901 by J.B. Okie, a sheep tycoon in Lost Cabin, Wyoming. This tour is full of stories from Okie’s life, history of the manor, as well as details about the home’s features. Admission is $20 per person; reservations are required and can be made by calling the Riverton Museum at 307-856-2665. Everyone is responsible to bring their own sack lunch and water.
