Annual Giving

To help us reach our goals, the Fremont County Museum Board has helped create the Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation.  The WRRCF has been established to exclusively benefit the Dubois Museum, the Pioneer Museum in Lander and the Riverton Museum.  As a supporter, your donation will only benefit the museum or museums that you choose.  We believe the WRCCF is the best possible way to ensure our shared cultural heritage is perpetuated for future generations and will help us create successful, valuable, beautiful museums where we can tell our stories and preserve history.

Planned Giving

The Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation has been established to support the three Fremont County Museums. Making a Planned Gift to the WRCCF to support museum most important to you is quite simple. The Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation will work with you to maximize the financial benefits. Here are six ways that you can make a planned gift to the museum(s) of your choice. Please remember that your planned gift can be made in your name or in the name of a friend or loved one.

Half a Calf Challange

The “Half a Calf” Challenge campaign has been created at the suggestion of a long-time supporter of Fremont County Museums whose family has been involved in livestock production in the Sweetwater area for nearly 80 years.  After seeing the paintings of rancher Jack Corbett in the “Sweetwater Ranch Life” exhibition at the Pioneer Museum she felt compelled to do something meaningful to support the museums by donating to the Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation and challenging others to contribute as well.

The “Sweetwater Ranch Life” helped to reinforce how important it is for us as communities to remember the contributions and importance of the Ag Industry in the history and development of Wind River Country, and how important the Dubois Museum, Pioneer Museum and Riverton Museum are to preserving and interpreting this part of our shared history.

The “Half a Calf” Challenge is meant to encourage supporters of our museums to donate the value ($1500.00) of a half a calf to the WRCCF.  The WRCCF has three committed donors at this time, totaling $4500.00-help us reach our goal of $15,0000.00!!

Challenge for Charities

The Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation (WRCCF) is thankful for the generous support of donors who have supported our efforts to foster community engagement through history at the Pioneer Museum.  Past donations have supported the “I Light History” campaign that is allowing the Pioneer Museum to install permanent, high-quality exterior lighting on their buildings.

This year the WRCCF is thrilled to allocate donations toward developing new exhibits, improving facilities and increasing awareness and involvement within Lander.  Your support is vital in helping us achieve our goals and positively impacting the Pioneer Museum and the greater community.

We urge you to make your contributions through Challenge for Charities (C4C) before the July 10, 2026 deadline.  By doing so, you not only support the Wind River Cultural Centers Foundation initiatives for the Pioneer Museum but also take advantage of the matching donation opportunity provided by our dedicated group of Challengers.
