“Split Rock Uranium Trek with Zach Larsen and the Department of Energy”

Join local uranium expert Zach Larsen on this adventure trek with the Riverton Museum out to the Split Rock Uranium Mill and Jeffrey City. We will be driving out as a group to the Split Rock Uranium Mill and receiving a presentation of the mill from the Department of Energy. We will then be exploring other important sites around the Jeffrey City area, before heading back to Riverton.

The Coal Camps at Hudson and Gebo

Schoenewald is a retired teacher who recently published her book “Lost Coal District of Gebo, Crosby, and Kirby.” Schoenewald will be telling the story of coal camps in Hot Springs and Fremont County, particularly looking at the life of miners and their families. She will delve into the local and family history of Gebo and Hudson by sharing her own experiences of Gebo as a child.
