Kids Corner: Cyanotype Printmaking

As part of the Bailey Tire & Pit Stop Travel Center Children’s Exploration Series, this Kids Corner will explore the early photography process of cyanotype, also known as Sun Prints.  The process was developed in 1842 by Sir John Herschel and is still used by artists today.  This project will emphasize children’s art and creativity, combining nature, science and art in the concepts of photography.

The Pioneer Museum is hosting an afternoon of learning some of the history of handmade crafts, and learning to make a simple rag rug. Materials and light refreshments provided, and we encourage teens and adults to attend.

Sinks Canyon Cave Trek

We will be driving down to Sinks Canyon as a group and exploring the boulder choke cave, a geological wonder known for its river that disappears into a limestone cavern. We will be exploring the inside of the cave and learning about the geological features and natural history of Sinks Canyon.
