The Pioneer Museum in Lander will present this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek on August 27th from 10 am - 3 pm The Granier ditch. Learn about the famous Granier ditch, dug in 1882 to bring water to the South Pass area to hydraulically mine for gold. Remnants of the ditch are still visible.
Learn all about gold panning the way the early miners did it in the gold fields of the west. Pan for gold along Baldwin Creek on the museum grounds. Weigh your treasures and store your gold in your own bag that you design.
